Turn up the excitement for the one and only Chi Town Half Marathon and 10k on April 1, 2012.  Start the season off right, feel the energy at the start line and accomplishment at the finish line.  Don’t delay, check out the details and register today!

COURSE
Woven between the famed Chicago lakefront and skyline, the Chi Town Half Marathon and 10k tours through Lincoln Park on a USATF certified course.  Chi town’s very own street entertainers will be along the course to keep your spirits up.  Aide stations and toilets will be provided along the course. Both courses are USATF certified distances.  At the finish line refuel with food and sports drink, get a complimentary massage, all while cheering on the finishers.

OVERALL & AGE GROUP AWARDS
Awards will be awarded to the top 3 participants, male and female in each age group and overall for the half marathon and 10k. Age Groups:
14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 & 60-64, 65+

CHICAGO HALF MARATHON SERIES
You do NOT need to be part of the series to participate in the half marathon.  The half marathon category is part of the “Chicago Half Marathon Series.”  The series is open to all levels and age brackets featuring events all over Chicagoland, click here.

PACERS**
There will be pacers to help you achieve your goal time.  Pacers will be at the start holding a sign of the pace they will be consistently running.   Run with these pacers and they will help keep you on track to achieve your goal.   That’s right, these pacers are dedicated to help lead you to one of the goal times listed below:

1:35:00 (7:15 per mile)
1:45:00 (8:00 per mile)
1:50:00 (8:24 per mile)
1:55:00 (8:47 per mile)
2:00:00 (9:10 per mile)
2:10:00 (9:55 per mile

Parking:
-Limited street parking may be available.
Paid parking is available at:
-Parking areas along Stockton Dr. and Cannon Dr.
-Lincoln Park Zoo Lot (on Cannon Drive, just south of Fullerton) on a first come, first serve basis.
-Chicago Historical Society lot, (Clark and LaSalle, with the entrance on Stockton Drive)

Bicycle parking is available near the race start/finish location.

GENERAL NOTES
This event is chip timed. Your "chip" is integrated with your bib. You must wear your bib on your front across your stomach to be electronically timed. 

This event is a fundraiser for Special Olympics IL, for more info, click here.

According to weather.com the average high on race day is around 51°F and a mean of around 43°F.

Runners and walkers can participate in this event as long as the participant can finish within the event time limit, see schedule above.

All participants are required to read and sign the event waiver form.  Click mail in registration link or waiver link on registration page for event waiver.

Monitored gear check will be provided.  Pick up and drop off will be at the start/finish area.  The event is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear, see, sense, and detect present or potential hazards and dangers.

During hours of operation the Chicago Park District is always open to the public unless otherwise noted by the Chicago Park District. Please visit Chicagoparkdistrict.com for rules and regulations which are in effect throughout the duration of the event.

Water stations include water and sports drink.

If at anytime you are in need of assistance throughout the event please notify a volunteer or course monitor.

No dogs. No strollers.
The event will start rain, snow or shine. The event could be delayed due to lightning or other dangerous conditions.  Above schedule is weather dependent.  Trail conditions could be variable.
*Finisher's medal for half marathon only. Massages at event not provided by All Community Events.
