Experience the excitement of the AMITA Fitness For America Sports Festival Half Marathon, 10k or 5k Run/Walk on July 23, 2016 in Hoffman Estates. Run or walk the 5k or strive to complete the 10k or half marathon run. All distances offer diverse and scenic USATF certified courses with pace teams for the 10k and half marathon. Put your shoes on and accomplish the distance, receive your commemorative moisture wicking tech shirt, bib number and finisher’s medal*. CHICAGO HALF MARATHON SERIES
You do NOT need to be part of the series to participate in the half marathon. The half marathon category is part of the “Chicago Half Marathon Series.” The series is open to all levels and age categories featuring events all over Chicagoland, click here.
The USATF certified 5k/3.1 mile, 10k/6.2 mile and 13.1 mile half marathon are all scenic road courses. The courses travel through North Hoffman Estates, Paul Douglas Forest Preserve and scenic AT&T complex on roads and paved trails. The course tours past the start/finish area during the distance to giving spectators a chance to cheer participants on. Water stations and toilets will be provided on course and medical service will be stationed at the finish line, see course map for this and other information. Put your shoes on and accomplish the distance!!

7:40PM - Preliminary cash payout winners posted. Protest period opens. All proposed corrections to the cash payout winners must be presented to the Race Director and Race Timer for consideration at this time.
7:55PM - Protest period closes. Results for cash payout will be finalized at this time and will not be changed, no exceptions.
8:00PM - Cash payouts begin, no changes will be excepted at this time..
This event is chip timed. All timing chips will be available at packet pick up. The chip is for one time use and you can keep it!
Gear check will be provided for all run events. Pick up and drop off will be at the start and finish respectfully. The event is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Weather: The mean temperature is 72 degrees Fahrenheit according weather.com. It is the participant’s responsibility to choose the proper clothing, nutrition and hydration for the event day weather.
The event will start rain, snow or shine. The event could be delayed due to lightning.
Headphones/iPod/mp3 devices are allowed though are strongly not recommended. It is the participant’s responsibility to make sure that they do not impair their ability to hear and detect present or potential hazards and dangers.

The course will be open for 3.5 Hours.
Cook County forest preserves are always open to the public except when noted by the forest preserve.
Pacers for the first 5 miles of the 10k only and the entire 13.1 miles of the half marathon.
**All times and placements of finish will be reviewed and deemed official before cash awards are distributed to the winners.
**Any U.S. citizens, who qualify for the top 2 open cash awards, will be required to pay taxes on the gross amount.
**To be eligible for cash prize a W-9 form must be submitted complete with a Social Security Number or Tax ID and signature as required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
**Non U.S. citizens who qualify for cash awards will be subject to Income Tax withholding, which will be deducted from the prize money dependent on IRS requirements.
**The age of a participant on the day of the race will determine their eligibility for the cash awards.
**Prize purse only available to half marathon runners. All winners are subject to random drug testing.
