Feature Title
All Community Events put on a Full Marathon on Sunday May 19th. The race was well organized and supported. Plenty of drink and gels on the course to refuel and hydrate. Due to thunderstorms in the forecast the marathon course had to be altered to run the ½ marathon course two times. ACE was well prepared in the event of storms, they had a plan to drive out and pick up all the runners on the course. They believe in the safety of their runners. With the full marathon being two loops, it gave those wanting to opt for the ½ marathon the option too. And those opting to downsize to the ½ did get credit for ½ marathon vs a DNF. Luckily the weather held out and the full marathon went on as planned. Race temps were good for running. The course was a mix of road and paved run/bike trails thru Schaumburg’s Busse Woods. Fairly flat terrain with the exception of a couple hills. During the course there were a couple out and backs giving runners the chance to see their friend’s a few times during the race. At the end all runners received a medal and some post race snacks (fruits, bars, and Wendy’s cheeseburgers). Proud to be an All Community Events Ambassador.
